I
completed my first oil painting at the age of thirteen, and painted
and drew a lot during my teen years, but majored in Science in
college and went on to teach high school science for a number
of years. In the meantime, my painting remained a hobby until
I was asked to teach a painting class for some ladies in Carrabelle,
Florida in 1979.

In
trepidation I began, deciding I would just quit if they didn't
like me. I taught for nine years, until I finally moved to the Tallahassee
area in 1988. I picked up teaching again when I moved to my current
residence where I have an art studio.

During
these years I also painted commissioned portraits, the portrait
being my true love, as well as sold paintings of other subjects.
I primarily paint in oils, but have also received awards in watercolor
and acrylics.

I
have participated in numerous outdoor shows and entered competitions
periodically. I currently teach five classes per week, and show
my work on weekends in my Gallery located in Havana, Florida.
